About Us

Manor House Agricultural Centre (MHAC) was established in 1984 in response to a three-year drought that caused severe hunger in many areas of rural Kenya, which precipitated the need for new approaches to farming.

being of rural small scale farmers.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES

We offer a variety of training programmes on Ecological Agriculture (EA). The training programmes range from week-long short-term programmes all the way to comprehensive two-year diploma programmes.

We also offer other support programmes that give an all-rounded education to an aspiring agriculture practitioner.

Besides our training programmes, we conduct outreach programmes to farmers and perform research on ecological agriculture.

Our outreach and extension programmes are about providing information and skills to the small-holder farmers we serve.

Our research activities are conducted on our farm as well as on-station with farmers. The knowledge we acquire from research is immediately transferred to farmers in the communities we serve.

Our FACILITIES

MHAC is situated on a 41.5 acre farm that has training, research and conference facilities. It is a great location for the development of ecological agricultural practices.
